Ever since Marla started the company, piles have been emblematic of her "rebellious" approach to jewelry—it should be delicious, not precious. And always playful. "Pile it on" and "put it in a pile" are things you’ll invariably hear at her showroom. And the sound of a hand reaching into a pile of locks? That’s a sound she can never get enough of.
While all of her pieces are optimized for play, her charms are where they tend to “goof around" the most. Sometimes they’re made from things Marla has collected over the years—available in very small quantities—and sometimes they’re like this: just a few of her most beloved Lock styles, stacked up in one delicious pile on one side of a swiveling medallion. The other side is perfect for engraving. There is no front or back—thanks to the swivel, also great for fiddling.
